The Directionless Youth

These days sometimes I am struck with questions which gives me a nightmare. Every time I open the television, I find news of protests, riots, killings, rapes and aggression flashed on the screen. This is the same story even when I open my social site account. The other type of news is that of funny Online videos filmed mostly by youngsters. I noticed that mostly it is the youth which is involved in such activities. Sometimes in the name of protests demanding 'Freedom', and sometimes in those online 'Viral Videos'.
It was not a very long back when I first heard about the word 'Web Series' and I was never facinated by the word to be very honest. However as I kept ignoring this word, it felt as if it kept following me. Sometimes at my workplace, sometimes within my friends group, sometimes through the television and also by the internet. I felt being left out in life many times when people would keep talking about it and giving me that weird look when I denied of watching it. I think when things are so much around you all the time, it is hard to turn your face off them. Hence one day I thought to watch one of the latest one for which it was recently released and advertised heavily. Story of four female friends from a metropolitan. It sounded fun to me the way their promos were screened so I chose to give it a try.
Well I could hardly see the first episode and I was caught by a feeling of shame. The content which was screened in it was obscene. It was as if in the name of humour, it was the content that you would ever dare to watch with your family. I took a deep breath before deciding not to continue with it ever.
Few days later due to the epidemic, when the entire world was locked down, people did not have much choice but to fall prey to the televisions or internet mostly. I thought to give it another try and pick another web series which was most talked about.

Based on a story from a small town how two brothers living a simple life, turned to be the
greatest gangsters of all time. This time I dared to watch it completely. The only thought which came to my mind was, could it be delivered without the those abuses? Could it be delivered without those sex scenes? Could it be delivered without those extreme violent blood drenched scenes?
Well Im sure it was possible, but then they say, we wanted to shoot it as close to the 'Reality'. So does that mean in the name of reality we should screen anything in some web series and where is the Censor board? And have we ever imagined who is the audience here?
It is the 'Youth' undoubtedly. It is said that the future of any great Nation is depending on its Youth. I wonder what is the Youth doing now a days. Making Videos? Taking selfies? Protesting Govt? Throwing stones? Watching IPL? Watching the latest WebSeries?

I think it is comprised of mostly from the above list. It is also said that Films are the mirror of our Society. It leaves a strong impression to the youngsters and surely it does. Now imagine what impression will be left on these young brigades who are to decide the fate of our Nation. Will it be by picking those violent acts, or will it by the extreme aggression and nuisance that is served in some web Series? There are many Countries who are preparing their Young generation for the future by various means. Some are educating them early with the technical skills to compete their age group children from other Nations who are learning the basics.
Others made it mandatory to serve in the Military before chosing any other Occupation. Now compare them with our young generation which is busy in deterioting their brains with the garbage. How will they ever learn to respect women when they will see it as an object of humiliation and sex. What will the impact when they will watch blood, guns, shooting and rivalry all the time. Will it not be swarmed by their brains as well? And could it not be one day shown in their actions in real life?
Our Country is very old, and so it 's culture. We belong to a great Nation from the land of Lord Rama and Shri Krishna. Every country has its own culture. We are lucky to come from a Nation which is dated thousands of years back,We bring along different cultures from north to South and East to West. Our great warriors have sacrificed their lives fighting to save the Nation, defending it's glory, it's culture.
It is our foremost duty to continue doing it. I see that not many people are disturbed by the fact of what is going on in the Country right now. They are happy to focus on their immediate family, their children. However I feel this is a very delicate time. This is the time to guide the youth of the Nation to chose the right path and it is our duty to track how our children are doing here.
We are 'STUCK' in a time when we know our Identify as an INDIAN, but we are forgetting our cultural values. We are being 'Westernised' which is like a slow poison and if not stopped, we might end up being 'Cultureless' one day. We want to mimic American accent, while we will not know the names of our own Martyrs. The world thinks low of us in such a case. Our Cinema has evolved and started showing nudity in the name of reality. Some feel the more costly Brand we can carry, the more modernised we are. Little do they know that in this 'Race' of superiority, they are leaving behind relations, they are leaving behind compassion, they are being becoming cold. That is NOT our Culture and that will NOT take us anywhere.
With these thoughts, I just pray to God to arouse that sense of responsibility to each parent to their children, each Youth towards their duties. Few people may be making millions out of showing the garbage over the screen, but we must save our children, we must save the Youth. Remember the Country we belong to, remember the culture we belong to..
