We often wait for that 'Monday' or for that new month to hit the new fitness and diet routine, but seldom we successfully keep the routine maintained.
In this modern app based Era, when most of our day starts and ends with various apps on phones, some of us even try those fitness and diet apps, hoping the magic out of it. However, we fail to realise that the same phone contains the various food ordering apps as well, which takes seconds to order our favorite food when we are hungry. So the question remains, who wins the battle at the end? Is it the workout app and the diet, or the food delivery apps which are hard to overcome when craving for food?Basically it is the battle between the heart and the mind. When our heart pushes us to order our favorite food and enjoy the tasty food, or the mind which tries to prevent us from having those calories.'how to lose weight' seems to be one of the most searched term, and Google knows it.
There are plenty of diet plans, various workout routines and numerous tips by various experts all over.If followed religiously, these tips are of great help. However if they are not even started, then losing weight remains that beautiful dream forever. Human body is naturally designed to keep in 'Rest' state and food is something that is hard to resist. It becomes more difficult for people who are a little overweight and wish to reduce that extra fat and become 'Fit' from 'Fat'.The sight of that delicious pizza or that butter chicken sends a signal to our mind and then the brain tells us to eat it.
That's the way our body works. So, it becomes hard to break this natural body instinct and we keep finding excuses to avoid the healthy way of living. The avoidance and this negligence, keeps going on and then one day we look back again at our pictures and we find ourselves looking much slimmer than today as what we are. Again, we wish to achieve that old state, which could be just 6 months back.
By this time, we enter into a state where we accept our body like the way it is. We become emotional eaters, we tend to avoid any physical activity, and our life becomes stagnant. Suddenly such people avoid taking their full body pictures and rather you will see their close up pictures only, that too with a side face pose, to look slimmer.
The may get some encouraging comments on their pictures, but when they appear actually in person, people would be surprised to see the difference between their posted pictures and how they actually are. Hence we can fool others, but not ourselves. Fitness is something that if we try to bluff it, we don't bluff anyone else but our own selves.
So how do we start it? How do we maintain it? How do we sustain it?
The answer lies not in those tips, articles, or those diet plans.
It is not in the gym membership you have taken or that dietitian you are consulting. The answer lies in your mind! Yes to achieve even a part of it, we must train your mind first and how to control it completely. So, to start with, take baby steps for the big leap, and start training your mind.

Try with below little steps
1. Start with eating your favorite food
If you are a foodie, but you want to switch to a new diet plan or joining workout plan, then eat your favorite food on the day just before you have planned your new diet or workout. Eat as much as you want until you kill your craving and until you are full for rest of the week. Once you satisfy your appetite and craving, you are ready to roll. Killing this craving at the very beginning will be your first step before your mind and body is ready to hit the new workout or diet plan.
2. Start with your workouts
Once you overcome your cravings part, now is the time to take your second step, your workout. Do not hit hard on the first day, take it light and take it easy. Even a 30 min brisk walk and body stretching should be good to start with. Let your body understand your new routine. Let it open up. Mostly what happens is that people work hard on their first initial days and gets exhausted fast as their strength and stamina does not match the push they give their body. Hence they either take a break complaining body ache and muscle stretch, losing their interest soon and this is the barrier which must be crossed by our body to keep it going. Rather than training hard, start with a accustomizing your body and aligning your mind and heart together with the new routine. So for the first week, let your body understand and adapt the new schedule.
Do not take a break, hit your gym or whatever workout you have started, even if it is for 20 mins. This will keep the flow going.
3. Start performing
Once you have trained your body of the new routine, now is the time to set goals. Set small, realistic goals in short sprints. For example, keep a goal of 1 kg loss in a week. Since your body is already used to of the workout now, so you can start pushing a little more. Extend your workout timings from 30 mins to 45 mins now. Change your workouts a bit as well, to avoid the monotonous factor. This is the performing stage and achieving your short goals.
4. Warm Water is a Must to lose Fat
Yes, it does the trick everytime. Start drinking warm water right after getting up in the mornings. Have a glass atleast in the mornings and evenings. You can have it with Green tea, lemon water or plain water but make sure to drink it. It helps to cut off fat from your body and detoxifies it as well.
After 2 to 3 weeks, you will realise that your body is now repulsive to your favorite food you always craved for. You will want to eat healthy and stick to your diet now as now you are seeing the improvement and you are losing the weight now.If you will eat any unhealthy food, you start to feel guilty. This is the mind game now. This is opposite to what you were few weeks back when you would eat anything without any guilt, because that time, your mind was naturally trained to eat.
However now, you have trained it to chose your workout more than the unhealthy diet. No matter what delicious food your family, friends or colleagues are eating now, but you find it easy to refrain it.
You will not crave for it. This is your new trained mind after few weeks of hard work you did already. Also it is important to satisfy your craving once in a while during your journey. Set a cheat day in between your workout weeks as this will re-energise your body and be prepared for the next coming weeks. So coming back to the basics, stick to your routine, do not skip it, Set small weekly goals and try to achieve it. Do not completely refrain from eating, rather set cheats day between your strict diet plans to keep satisfying your hunger stream
